The bond between Mariam and Laila was unbreakable. She would die for Laila to atone her sins for killing Zalmai's father. She lived a life full of hardship and remorse. Married of at the age of 15 yet her father did nothing to prevent this for fear of his good name. No matter how regretful his letter was, it's not enough for what she has gone through! What with the beatings and endurance of a cold and hateful husband. What with caring for his needs attentively without complain. It's all so sad she couldn't go with Laila. Even if she could... it'll consume her with guilt.

Regarding my previous post, it simply meant I do not care. Perhaps you don't understand that. Why fret over someone (whom you think!) who is thinking bad about you? Isn't it hard to live with fear of how people would pass judgements against you?
